Badminton tournaments — at a club, school, community centre, or sports hall — bring out a competitive side that social knockabouts just don't. Once players know there's a bracket and a champion at the end, the energy changes. A well-organized draw makes all the difference: everyone knows their schedule, follows the results, and stays engaged from the first match to the final.

Single elimination is the standard format for most badminton competitions: three rounds for 8 players, four rounds for 16. Each match in a singles competition is typically best of 3 games to 21, which takes 30–45 minutes. An 8-player bracket can be completed in a single afternoon. BYEs are placed automatically for any draw size that isn't a power of 2.

Setting up is quick: paste in your players' names, generate the draw, and share the live link. Players can check their schedule and see updated scores on their phone without any app or account. For club events, project the bracket on a screen or noticeboard so every player can see the full draw at a glance.

A few things to agree on before the event: court allocation if you have multiple courts running simultaneously, a warm-up time rule, and what happens if a player doesn't show for their match. Setting these rules in writing before the tournament starts saves arguments later. For mixed doubles or doubles events, just enter team names instead of individual players.
